How much does it cost?

Our pricing is based on percentage of your payroll so there are no hidden fees. This allows you to have the flexibility to accurately budget for payroll as your business grows without the burden of paying for dedicated payroll software and for employees (or yourself) to process the payroll and deal with all the compliance.

What is included in the cost?

(1) Advanced easy to use Australian software which includes timesheets and a self-service employee portal. (2) Processing of payroll including scheduled payrolls, ad hoc payrolls, bonuses and commissions and all termination payments. (3) Payment of Superannuation. (4) Payment of PAYG Withholding. (5) Payment of Payroll Tax. (6) Payment of Child Support. (7) Employee Separation Certificates. (8) Leave Management. (9) End of year PAYG Payment Summaries. (10) All payroll done in Australia by our employees. (11) Support by phone or email for both you and your empoyees.

Payroll is changing with new requirements such as STP, new tax tables, new payrates for awards, and new Superannuation rates - what do I need to do with all these changes?

Nothing. We manage and implement all changes at our end so you don’t need to do a thing. You will of course be updated on all changes in our quarterly newsletter so you are kept informed on all changes.

I want to start using Zed Payroll mid year but have already paid employees throughout the year. Will the year to date figures on the payslips and on the end of year PAYG Payment Summaries be correct?

Yes. We will enter the year to date balances for employees which will ensure that all payslips and PAYG Payment Summaries are correct.

I pay bonuses or commissions, can Zed Payroll pay these?

Yes. We can pay bonuses and commissions on a regular basis or an ad hoc basis. We ensure that the taxes on these payments are calculated as per the ATO rules and not taxed as standard wages.

I need to invoice my customers for the hours employees worked, can you create these invoices for me?

Yes. For an additional small fee, we can create invoices based on the employees time worked in your cloud accounting package (eg Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, etc). If you do not have cloud accounting software we can send you a report with the data you need so you can easily create these invoices yourself.

I’m a new business about to get my first employee and unsure what my requirements will be. How can Zed Payroll help me?

Zed Payroll can setup your payroll to ensure that when your first employee starts, it is a seamless process. As our pricing is based on percentage of your payroll, our service is fully scalable so you can grow your business and hire new employees at any time.

I have a complex payroll with many different awards and EBAs, how can you help?

We make paying on an award or EBA simple no matter what award or EBA is being paid on or how old an employee is. Our awards interpreter has most of the awards already setup and we can assign employees to these awards. If you pay a different version of these awards or pay on an EBA, we can set this up so payroll is automated. Another way we make complex payroll simple.

Can you manage leave entitlements?

Yes. Our pricing includes managing all leave entitlements for all employees even if you have additional or non-standard leave you want to manage.

Can employees salary sacrifice superannuation?

Yes. Our pricing includes preparing and paying salary sacrifice superannuation and other salary sacrifices employees have.

I have an employee who is about to go on maternity leave. Can Zed Payroll help with this?

Yes. When you get the letter from Centrelink informing you the employee will be paid for maternity leave, all you need to do is send us the letter – we do the rest. We can also help out with advice and payment of any leave the employee wants to take while on maternity leave. This includes advice on implications to you of paying annual leave to employees on maternity leave, or paying 50% of annual leave for twice as long.

What is the process for each payrun?

We manage all the complicated processes at our end so we can keep payroll simple for your end. In most cases from your end, it will be as easy as:
Step 1- Receive easy to understand payroll reports and an invoice from Zed Payroll
Step 2 – Review reports
Step 3 – Pay invoice

We then ensure that Employees are paid, Superannuation is paid, PAYG Withholding is paid, Payroll Taxes are paid, Child Support is paid, and that Leave is calculated and managed.

How quickly can I get setup?

Depending on your business and requirements, we can have you setup within a week. We understand that sometimes you have an urgent need to pay employees, so we have streamlined our setup process and made it simple even if you have a complex payroll. If you have any urgent requirements, please contact us to discuss your needs.

I’m confused about Single Touch Payroll (STP) – what do I need to do?

Nothing. Our software is Single Touch Payroll compliant and we manage Single Touch Payroll at our end so you don’t need to do anything at your end. We will keep you updated on Single Touch Payroll through our quarterly newsletters so you are informed but all compliance is done at our end.

I pay some employees weekly, some fortnightly and some monthly, can you do this?

Yes. Our system is setup so you can pay employees weekly, fortnightly, monthly or even on an ad-hoc basis. Our fees are the same for all types and frequency of payroll.

Can you help me with termination payments to employees?

Yes. We prepare and pay termination payments to employees for all types of terminations including resignation, dismissals, redundancy, and retirement.

What do I need to do at year end to issue PAYG Payment Summaries (Group Certificates)?

Nothing. Our pricing includes the preparation and issuing of PAYG Payment Summaries to employees. We will prepare the PAYG Payment Summaries, send you a copy for your records and send a copy to each employee.

I’m an existing business with dozens or hundreds of employees. How can Zed Payroll help me?

(1) Our price includes Australian timesheet and payroll software with an automated rules interpreter. (2) We prepare all standard and non standard payroll including all terminations, bonuses, commissions, resignations and retirements. (3) You only pay one payment each payrun which includes all payments for Wages, PAYG Withholding, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, and Child Support payments. (4) We prepare separation certificates for employees. (5) We provide summary and detail reports each payroll which are password protected. (6) We prepare and send end of year PAYG Payment Summaries. (7) We will save you both time and money which will allow you to grow your business.

My employees have a question about their payroll, can they contact you directly?

Yes. We give out our contact details to all employees so they can contact us directly about their payroll and we will go back to them directly and answer their question. We will only contact you if we need to confirm something before we can provide an answer. We can also send you a copy of all correspondence for your records.

I sometimes need to pay employees urgently the same day, can you do this?

Yes. We have a process where we can process payroll, issue you with the payroll reports and release funds to employees on the same day.

Can you pay my superannuation?

Yes. We pay superannuation for all eligible employees to their nominated superannuation fund including Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF).
